The Colorado Avalanche are playing their third preseason game and are trying to prove that they’re back in playoff contention.
But the team’s head coach, Jeff Blashill, said on Friday that he is not ready to declare the team the best team in the NHL yet.
The Avs had a 7-2-0 record in their first four preseason games, but Blashll said he is concerned with a lack of consistency and is hoping that his players come out with more enthusiasm.
Blashill said on Thursday that he thinks the team has a good mix of skill and depth in the back end, but that he does not think they have the depth to compete with teams that have depth in goal.
“There are a lot of things that need to come together to get us to the next level,” Blash said.
Blashll was not ready Friday to announce who will start in goal for the Avalanche.”
I just think that if we can continue to improve as a team and as a player group, we’ll be OK.”
