Paint spray guns that spray water, ammonia and other chemicals can cause skin reactions, so a pet shop in Jacksonville, Florida, is asking for help finding a safer option.
The salon, the Paint Spray Shop, told The Associated Press that it’s offering free paint to anyone who can show they can spray the colors without disturbing pets.
The shop has about 300 customers.
The owner says the business is in desperate need of a new paint dispenser.
“It’s crazy,” said owner Mary Lee.
“There’s a little bit of water and ammonia in it, and then it turns orange.
That’s a scary color.
And then it’s like a bright orange.
The salon has had a water-spray problem in the past. “
I want to put this paint dispensing machine out there and let people see that.”

Owner Mary Lee says her salon has been inundated with calls about customers who can’t spray their pets because of the paint.
The owners said the paint-pow dispenser is just one solution for getting people out of the salon and out of water.
“This is a safe solution,” said Mary Lee, who is black.
“People can go outside, they can paint their pets, or they can do whatever they want.
It doesn’t matter.
The paint is safe.”
The shop, which is owned by a black woman and a white woman, says customers should call their local police department if they see someone trying to spray pets without permission.
